Liza Tripp is a full-time freelance translator based in New York City. She devotes 100% of her professional practice to translating documents from French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian into English, and editing English-language translations. Her principal areas of specialization are legal and financial documents. Currently in the 5th year of a doctoral fellowship at CUNY Graduate Center, she has begun work on her thesis, which will explore the French translations of William Faulkner. Ms. Tripp holds a B.A. in French from Columbia University and a Certificate in French Translation from New York University, and has studied language throughout Europe and South America. She has also completed several published literary and academic translations.
